Originally from Austria, the Vina Siegel family has lived and produced wine in Chile since 1946. Typically Chilean Cabs can be overly green and have lots of green bell pepper on the nose and palate, but San Elias is different. The wine is smooth with notes of ripe strawberry, plum and vanilla. The wine is well-rounded and has a silky texture. While most Cabernet is wonderful with steak, we love this with a fun cheese platter with cheddar, truffle goat cheese and Manchego.
