The fruit for this Bordeaux-inspired blend comes from vineyard sites within the esteemed Gimblett Gravels district of Hawkes Bay, where the vines sit upon gravelly soils laid down by the old Ngaruroro River in the 1860s. This stony soil retains more heat than other sites, allowing for perfect ripening of red grapes. This full bodied wine shows flavors of juicy blackberries, cherries and plums, mingling with cedar and smokey mineral notes.
