This bold red from Abruzzo is 100% Montepulciano. Cantina Frentana is a co-op that produces an excellent array of wines from this region on the eastern side of central Italy, right next to the Adriatic sea. Abundant sunlight ripens this deeply colored grape lending full fruity aromas and flavors of plum, black cherry and blackberry. A hint of spice makes it ideal to pair with hard aged cheeses and lamb.
