100% Chardonnay

Monterey County, California

Monterey is made up of 5 sub-appellations on the California Central Coast. The relatively warm climate is tempered by cool, coastal winds, allowing a long growing season in the region. Chardonnay is the most widely planted grape in Monterey County and covers around 40% of the vineyard. The cool ocean fog is responsible for developing the perfect sugar-acid balance in the Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Riesling grapes grown there.

Le P’tit Paysan is a small producer focused on displaying the quality and diversity of "great vineyards at the edge of sensible farming". On their growing sites, owner and winemaker Ian Brand looks for shallow, rocky soils that properly match the planted varietal to the soil and climate. The often-overlooked Monterey Bay Area has a plethora of rocky, limestone vineyards perfect for Chardonnay grapes.

You will find this chardonnay is bright with orchard fruits, however, the minerality from the soil is intensely translated to the glass.

Pair this with Salmon, Poultry, Pork, and Vegetarian meals.
