Barisel "Foravia" - Favorita - Italy

A denizen of northwestern Mediterranean Italy (straight through into Sardinia and France's Provence), the Favorita grape is better known as Vermentino throughout most of its coast-clinging habitat. Here, in the Canelli hills of the Piemonte, its been known as Favorita for the better part of four centuries. Pearish white fruit and a subtle tropicality intermingle with a touch of leesy, yeasty richness that adds an exotic reminiscence of really good sake.
