The origins of this winery date back to 63AD, to the building of a Roman fort called Favianus. In 1894, Anton and Anna Saahs acquired the estate, and have passed it down through the generations until the present day. Now, Nikolaus Saahs Jr. is the proprietor and continues the biodynamic cultivation practices begun in 1971. This Gruner is full of cherry blossom, anise, and flint, with a lovely minerality.
