Crafted by the eighth generation of the Cosenza family at Poggio di Bortolone in southern Sicily, the Contessa Costanza wine captures the essence of the island’s oldest and only DOCG appellation, Cerasuolo di Vittoria. This 2022 vintage blends Nero d’Avola’s dark fruit and depth with Frappato’s brightness and perfume, creating a wine of both structure and lift. Grown on sandy, sun-warmed soils near Chiaramonte Gulfi and fermented with minimal intervention, it exudes Mediterranean character. Aromas of red cherry, blueberry, and violet lead into a silky palate marked by lively acidity and a lingering mineral freshness. Aged in stainless steel to preserve purity, it’s elegant yet generous—perfect with Sicilian specialties like Pasta alla Norma, caponata, or roasted lamb with herbs.
