In 1992, Anton Bauer took over his parents' small winery, making him the fourth generation proprietor. Dedicated to his craft, he has also implemented organic and sustainable practices. Today, the Austrian winery has expanded to 40 hectares and all grapes are handpicked. The Wagram region has its own unique history; it was not only the site of one of the largest battles of the Napoleonic Wars, but the area was also formed from the deposits of the ancient Danube river. The clay and loess soil that remains is rich in minerals and fossils, and allow the roots of the vines to dig deep, protecting them from drought. This Gruner Veltliner has tasting notes of citrus, green apple and white pepper, with a pleasant richness on the palate creamy palate. Pair this wine with a goat cheese flatbread or a lobster dish.
