This quaint little 450 acre estate has been called home by the Antonelli Family since 1881. They have been growing and producing wine here ever since. The estate produces several different wines, as well as high quality olive oils. For this Montefalco Rosso, the vines were planted in 1979 at the center of the property. Harvesting for the Sagrantino starts in October. This makes for a monstsrous wine. Following seperate fermentations, the wines are then blended and aged together in large oak barrels for 9 months, rounding out the tannins and adding a lot of depth to the wine, without overdoing the oak. This is a wine that is great now but will be best in 8-10 more years. Pair this wine with: Braised Short Ribs
