The property on which Avondale sits has been allocated for the growing of wine grapes for over 300 years. After a catastrophic fire in 2000, owners John and Ginny Grieve took the opportunity to start over and optimize the land and its natural systems in an holistic, sustainable way. This wine showcases how complex a well-made Chenin Blanc can be, giving flavors of melon, peach and gooseberry, with gentle honey and mineral notes keeping it all in balance. This wine would pair beautifully with creamy sauces, roasted poulty and earthy vegetable dishes.
