The Backsberg estate is on the steep hillside in Paarl, Africa. The grapes are grown in sandy soils that drain excess water and retain heat. Despite the soil type, the regional weather is perfect for growing grapes. Rainfall usually measures around 40-inches a year here. 

Expect an aroma of peach and melon to greet the nose. The medium body balances the plentiful ripe fruit with lemony, crisp acidity. This Chenin Blanc has a beautifully refreshing palate and a lingering finish. Pair it with crayfish, river fish, or smoked salmon.
