The Ferraro family started Bele Casel in 1977 when oenology student, Danilo, met a father-daughter farming team, Antonella and Ilario. Danilo helped around the property with the one hectare of Malvasia grapes they had at the time, and eventually, he became part of the family. Today the property remains family owned with Danilo and Antonella’s children at the helm, and they’ve expanded to 12 hectares of vines and specialize in sparkling wines. The ColFondo prosecco maintains some natural sediment, which gives body and longevity to the wine. It has fine, persistent bubbles with notes of fresh fruit and crusty bread. Enjoy it on its own, with a charcuterie board, or fruit-based desserts.
