Settled above a deep valley in Tuscany, elevation 420 meters high, sits the nine hectares of land that makes up Bertinga. Run by an international team of wine professionals, Bertinga displays its passion for winemaking through every bottle produced. ‘Sassi Chiusi’ is a blend of 85% Sangiovese and 15% Merlot harvested from all three estate vineyards, Bertinga, Adine and Vertine. Hand-picked whole clusters were then manually sorted and vinified in stainless steel and concrete tanks, aged for 18 months then aged once again in bottle for another 12 months. Notes of fruit leather, ripe red fruits, and a touch of tobacco and spice come through this medium-to-full-bodied wine. Pair with meaty tomato based pasta dishes, aged parmesan, and short ribs.
