Beyra 'Quartz Reserva' - Bianco

Under the winemaker Rui Roboredo Madeira, Beyra Reserva is part of a pioneering line of wines from the Beira Interior called Altitude Wines. The grapes in this region benefit from cooler climates, intense sunshine, and minimal temperature changes throughout the day. The slow, consistent ripening that occurs under these conditions leads to more concentrated flavors and a balanced finished product. This white blend is made up of 50% Fonte Cal, 30% Siria, 10% Verdelho and 10% Godello grown at an average altitude of 700 meters in granite soils with quartz veins, hence the cuvee name. The grapes are hand-picked before being aged on the lees and spending 5 months in stainess steel tanks. With tasting notes of stone fruit, golden pear and a touch of honey, this medium bodied white pairs well with cured goat cheese or a fatty fish such as salmon.
