Named after the Masseria, or farmhouse, on which the winery was built, Masseria Borgo dei Trulli is encircled by hills, vines, and olive trees making it a self-sustaining estate in the Salento region of Puglia, Italy. Grown on 15-25 year-old vines, hand harvested in late September, and fermented in stainless steel tanks for 8-10 days, this full-bodied wine is a premiere expression of the Negroamaro grape. Notes of plum, black pepper, and hints of charcoal and nutmeg are met with a high acidity and a velvety finish. Pair this wine with slow cooked beef dishes, grilled chicken, and roasted root vegetables.
