Verdicchio is an old grape variety cultivated in Marche for hundreds of years. Commonly referred to as being one of Italy's best white wine grape varieties for its versatility, Verdicchio typically fresh with bright acidity can also carry deeper notes of almond and honey once cellared. Everyday table wine or complex cellared wine, either way, this varietal is clearly a crowd-pleaser.
The glass opens with dusty florals, sweet spices, apples, and pears. Green citrus lifts the wine with zest and acidity. The citrus notes bring tension to the otherwise delicate profile. Sour melon and saline bring the glass to a long and satisfying close. Pair with white, flakey fish.
