Family owned and operated by the Hurtado family since 2003, Calcu cultivates its wines in coastal, granite-heavy soils and a climate that benefits from a cool sea breeze. These ideal growing conditions and Calcu’s emphasis on sustainable farming practices has set up the winery to produce some of the freshest wines on the market today. This medium-bodied wine is a blend of 60% Malbec and 40% Petit Verdot and is fermented in stainless steel tanks for 20 days, resting on its lees for 3 months after which adds complexity to the body of the wine. Notes of strawberry and red plum are complimented by a touch of tomato leaf and a subtle florality. Pair with salmon with pesto butter, lobster rolls, and burrata crostini.
