Giuseppe Latorraca started Cantine Madonna delle Grazie in 2003 when he built his winery near the 16th century Madonna delle Grazie monastery and decided to pay homage to the history. Giuseppe was already very familiar with winegrowing, as his family has been farming nearby vineyards since the early 1900s. Today, he, his wife and their sons maintain the 8.5 hectares of vineyards together. The wines he produces also pay homage to the nearby Roman city of Venosa and home to the poet Horace. This white wine pays a special tribute for the poem Horace is most known for, 'Carpe Diem'. This wine is made from 100% Aglianico and has unique tasting notes including lime, white peach, herbs and wet stone. This wine would pair well with shellfish or appetizers.
