Practicing traditional, ecological, and sustainable viticulture is a hallmark of this family-run winery in the Priorat region of Spain. Owned and managed by winemaker Francesc Sánchez-Bas, the grapes cultivated are grown on vines planted in the year 2000 on slate soils and have adapted to thrive in such rocky territory. ‘Montclàss’ is a blend of 65% Grenache, 25% Carignan, and 10% Syrah, de-stemmed and fermented in stainless steel tanks then macerated between 15-20 days before being pressed and aged in French oak barrels for 8 months. Notes of red fruits, plums, and cherry liquor are predominantly present in this full bodied wine. Pair with lamb stew, beef empanadas, and mixed paella.
