Castell del Remei, the oldest winery in Catalonia, is renowned for its exceptional winemaking, with owner Tomas Cusiné among the country's finest vintners. The estate boasts a rich winemaking heritage dating back to 1780 and spans 100 organically farmed hectares, with vines averaging over 25 years old and planted in sandy-clay gravel soils. The Mediterranean climate, characterized by cold winters and hot summers, provides ideal conditions for grape growing. This red blend of Grenache, Tempranillo, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon is aged for 8 months in American and French oak barrels, offering ripe red and black fruit flavors complemented by cocoa, spice, and a hint of aromatic herbs. It pairs wonderfully with grilled meats or a hearty lentil-based dish.
