Elephas’ is named after the ancient elephants that used to inhabit this Italian land! This region is just 50 meters above sea level and experiences a temperate, Mediterranean climate. Castello di Torre in Pietra has a winemaking history dating back to the 16th century. In 2000, the winery transitioned to organic farming and has since become certified, taking great pride in not using any harmful pesticides and limiting the use of sulfur dioxide. This red blend is made up Sangiovese, Montepulciano and Merlot varietals grown in calcareous-clay soils. Tasting notes include sour cherry and red berries complemented by balanced tannins and a savory finish. Pair this wine with a charcuterie board or grilled meats.
