Uroulat - Jurancon

Clos Uroulat is found outside the village of Monein, 15 km west of Pau. The vines are planted on a sweep of south and southwest-facing hillsides, forming an impressive natural amphitheatre with a particularly warm and sunny microclimate. Although in the foothills of the Pyrenees, the altitude is not as high as in the southeast of the appellation, so frost danger is reduced and grape ripening is generally easier. The wine has an intense, aromatic nose of fresh straw, honey, oak, flower blossom and white stone fruit. The palate is dry but very rich, with seriously concentrated fruit and noticeable oak all held in check by vibrant acidity.
