While this style is often referred to as ‘orange wine’, no oranges were harmed in the making of this wine! Instead, ‘orange’ refers to the amber color of the wine that comes from additional time in contact with the skins of the grapes (an unusual practice in white wine-making). This skin contact also provides more structure, and notes of tangerine, bruised apples and ginger.
