Owned by the Villeneuve family since the 16th century, Chateau de Villeneuve acquired its name when a member of the family died at the Battle of Yorktown during the American Revolutionary War. Since then, the estate has developed into one of the most impressive organic wine producers in Saumur-Champigny, France. After harvest and maceration, the wine is aged for 2 years in oak barrels and aged an additional 2 years in the bottle. As you sip this elegant wine, you will find notes of red berries, earth, and a hint of minerality. Pair this with a rich beef stew or grilled lamb.
