This French Chateau has been producing wine since the 12th century, making it one of the oldest vineyards in the region.The terroir in Margaux is known to be a bit more complex than others in the Medoc appelation. Situated between the the maritime influence of the ocean and pine forests creates a diverse soil type and allows varietals such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit-Verdot to thrive. This lively red is made from 68% Merlot and 28% Cabernet Sauvignon creating a wine that has structured yet silky tannins and notes of cinnamon, dark plum and cherries. It has cellar potential of 15-20 years or it can be enjoyed now with meat dishes like lamb and game or a rich, mushroom dish.
