Located about 50 kilometers south of Bordeaux, the Chateau Laubarit property has been family-owned since 1780 and have been certified organic since 1965. The terroir in this region is a mixture of clay and thick limestone that is made up of tiny, fossilized oysters all in iron-rich soils, ideal conditions for both Cabernet and Merlot grapes. This medium-bodied red is 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon creating tasting notes of red berry fruit and a hint of prunes. This wine pairs well with red meat and stews and will cellar for 5-7 years.
