Originally founded by the Knights Templar in 1256, The Commanderie de Peyrassol has produced wine for nearly 800 years in the iconic region of Provence, France. The Chateau enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild winters and the vines are organically farmed. The fruit selected for the AOP Cotes de Provence Rouge comes from the oldest part of the estate, with vines of at least 45 years of age. This 100% estate wine offers the purest expression of a great Provencal terroir. In the glass, this Syrah-dominant wine is deep ruby in color and shows inviting aromas of red cherry, raspberry, blueberry and violets. On the palate, expect velvety structure, fresh, ripe berries, graphite and a long, peppery finish.
