Situated in the heart of the Bordeaux's Graves AOP is the 42 acre 'Clos' of Chateau Peyrat. The sandy, clay soils and proximity to the Garonne River create a microclimate conducive to producing wines with the minerality, freshness & finesse of classic Graves. This vintage consists of 80% Merlot with 10% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, fermented entirely in small concrete vessels in order to conserve the fruit and freshness of the wine. Aging almost entirely takes place in concrete with only 10% of the wine being rested in oak barriques. The result is a clean, mineral driven wine with a fresh, spicy nose and flavors of black currants, cranberry, & raspberry with a savory earthiness. Drink now or age for 8-10 years.
