Cincinnato was founded in 1947 by several local farmers who joined together to form a cooperative. Today, the winery is made up of over 100 winegrowers and over 500 hectares. Over the last 70 years they have made great strides in supporting and revitalizing the native grape varietals including Nero Buono, Bellone, Cesanese and Greco. This red is made from the ancient red varietal Cesanese. Previously used to create sweet and sparkling style wines, this varietal is now used to create fruity and fresh wines. Grown in volcanic soils, you can expect tasting notes of pomegrante, blood orange complemented by a touch of graphite and herbs. It is known for being a food-friendly wine and would pair well with a meatball flatbread or roasted venison.
