The rural Denomination of Origin (DO) Terra Alta is located in southern Catalonia, Spain, and up until recently, the wines produced were intended for the locals due to its isolated location. So isolated and beautiful that Picasso himself spent summers creating paintings of the rolling hills of the countryside. The DO is made up of both long-established and new wineries within 12 different municipalities that continue the practice of vinification, through modern and traditional methods, in the area. Coca i Fito's 'Aloja Blanc' is a blend of White Grenache and Macabeo. Acacia flower, apple, herbs, and citrus fruits notes combine to create expressions of minerality and freshness in the glass. The wine was left in stainless steel tanks to age for 4 months sur lees to add body and flavor. If the wine is allowed to age, you will find smoky notes, baked peaches, and notes of honey. Pair with Pork Chops with Spiced Apples, Paella, or Manchango and Calabrese.
