Do Ferreiro has become widely known for their production of Albarino. With only one sip, you will understand why. Located in Rias Baixas, Spain, the winery uses the terroir of granite soils and ocean breezes to their advantage. Do Ferreiro was officially founded by Gerardo Mendez and his father in 1988, although Gerardo had produced his first unlabled wine in 1973. Today, the winery has over 175 plots of Albarino that all are practicing organic. This 100% Albarino, is made from grapes blended from different plots with wines ranging from 20-120 years. The wine is then fermented in stainless steel tanks without any maolocatic fermentation. As you sip you will find high acidity and lots of stoney minerality. This pairs well with seafood.
