Domaine Fenouillet lies in the heart of the Rhone valley. While the estate itself has a history dating back to the late 18th century, it wasn’t until 1989 when the Domaine was officially named and their first vintage was produced. The Soard family works their vineyards organically (certified), and yields are typically low –one of the reasons for the high quality and small production. This rosé is vibrant and balanced compared to the richer rosés you often find in the Southern Rhone. It is a blend of Grenache, Cinsault, Mourvedre, and Syrah–all the components of which are direct-press except for the Syrah. Tasting notes of red fruit including strawberries are complemented by melon and a touch of earthiness. This fuller bodied rose pairs great with salmon but can also stand up to a 4th of July BBQ.
