Franck Besson may be one of the most interesting wine makers we have read about. He focuses on his estate remaining very zen while also extremely lively. Japanese lanterns hang from the ceiling in his barrel room where he believes the atmosphere is important to the health of the wines. He also focuses on having fun and finding amusement in each day, bringing positivity to the vineyard. This 100% organic Chardonnay is just as joyous as Franck is. Each grape is hand harvested from 8 year old vines and spend 6 months aging on lees in stainless steel tanks. ‘Les Chardonerettes’ is named after a friendly, local bird who enjoys snacking on chard. Notes of white peach, pears, and honey beautifully cross the palate in perfect balance. Pair this with baked brie or creamy herb chicken.
