This family estate was founded in 1513 and over the last 500 years the Mellots made quite a name for themselves including being a wine counselor for King Louis XIV. Today, it is still very much a family operation and they pride themselves on their sustainability and even became certified organic in 2015. Sancerre is said to date back to the ancient times and covers about 3,000 hectares in the North-East. Like all Sancerre, this wine is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grown on 25 year-old vines in the famous silex soils that makes a Sancerre so noteable.
