Passed down generation by generation from Robert Perroud’s grandfather, the estate now rests in Robert’s care with a top priority being to uphold organic and biodynamic cultivation practices. Growing their gamay on 5-year-old vines, Robert focuses on producing excellent expressions of wine from start to finish. ‘Foudre No. 5’, which translates to “Lightening Number Five”, is an elegant expression of gamay that is hand-harvested at full maturity and is able to be cellared between 3 to 5 years. Notes of baking spices, black plums, and black cherries are met with a balanced acidity. Pair with aged cheeses, chocolate based desserts, and grilled chicken.
