This Domaine dates back to 1450 when the Abbey of Saint-Satur founded Domaine du Clos du Roc with just 4 hectares of vines. After Phylloxera destoryed most of the area at the end of the 19th century, it took until the mid 1950s to bring the land back to its former glory. Today, the estate is made up of 17 hectares and managed by the Mollet family who has been sure to never forget the Domaine's Abbey roots. This region is best known for its silex (flint) soils and the amazing wine that can be produced from them and Domaine Roc's wines are no exception. This wine, of course, is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc and boasts tastings notes of elderflower, gooseberry, peach and pyrazine. Pair with dishes like fried calamari, smoked seafood or a goat cheese quiche.
