Don't let the name of this grape fool you! This Chardonnay from the cool northern region of Alto Adige in Italy is crisp with flavors of green apple, lemon, and pear. The wine is only matured in stainless steel and therefore does not show any flavors of butter, toast, or vanilla and spice from the oak. The wine does spend a few months on the fine lees, which create a smooth texture and added body. Overall, this Chardonnay is fresh, clean, and perfect for light dishes of chicken salad, roasted fish, or vegetable pasta.
