Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo
While the presitigous Familia Torres is arguably best known for powerful Priorat blends, 'Gran Coronas' marks a monumental turning point in innovation in the winery's history. While most producers were solely planting indigenous grape varities in Penedes, Miguel Torres planted Cabernet Sauvignon, believing in its potential to create beautiful wines in this region. With a small amount of Tempranillo blended in, 'Gran Coronas' shows ripe, dark cherries, blueberry and cassis notes, underlined with hints of black pepper, balsamic and cocoa. Pair this one with roasted rack of lamb and lentils.
