This Dolcetto shows of the beauty of the overall Langhe region (more specifically Monforte d'Alba). It is a very polished wine without being overly fruity. Great wine is all about balance at the end of the day, and Principiano Ferdinando has achieved just that here. It has bright and tart notes but then also a milk chocolate backbone, soft tannins, and bright acidity, all of which are held together with notes of dried mountain herbs.
