2021 - FitaPreta is in the Alentejo region of southeastern Portugal and is known for its ability to grow a wide variety of grapes. The winemaker at FitaPreta is Antonio Maçanita. He has a reputation for playfulness, curiosity, and meticulous intensity, yielding creative, world-class wines. ‘A Touriga Vai Nua’ is made with 100% Touriga Nacional, the national grape of Portugal. The name translates to “the Touriga goes naked,” referring to a complete lack of oak in the aging process. Fruit-forward and versatile, this wine features luscious dark fruits like blackberry, plum, and blueberry with supporting minerality and a hint of fresh-cut flowers. While it will hold up to grilled meats, more apt pairings may be spice-forward fare, like Southeast Asian dishes or charcuterie and cheese plates.
