Francois Villard began his career as a chef, but quickly developed a passion for winemaking. After becoming a sommelier he was eager to get his hands dirty and he soon acquired 4 hectares of uncultivated land in the appellation of Condrieu. With the help of a local vintner, he produced his first vintage in 1991. Today, the domaine has expanded to over 40 hectares and he has one of the most successful and sought after wines in the region. He attributes sustainable and organic practices to his success by ‘letting the terroir express itself’. This white wine is floral and fresh with notes of ripe pear, orange apple blossom and apricot. With a touch of salinity and smoke, this wine pairs well with shellfish or even a mild curry. Cellaring potential of 5 years.
