Francois Villard began his career as a chef, but quickly developed a passion for winemaking. After becoming a sommelier he was eager to get his hands dirty and he soon acquired 4 hectares of uncultivated land in the appellation of Condrieu. With the help of a local vintner, he produced his first vintage in 1991. Today, the domaine has expanded to over 40 hectares and he has one of the most successful and sought after wines in the region. He attributes sustainable and organic practices to his success by ‘letting the terroir express itself’. This white is a blend of 85% Marsanne and 15% Roussanne grown in granite soils on 20 year old vines. Tasting notes of white flowers and white fruit including peach and pear make this wine a great pairing for oysters or as an aperitif.
