Fernando Mora was making wine at home as a hobby when he met Mario Lopez in 2008, and just five years later the pair founded Bodegas Frontonio in the Valdejalón region of northeast Spain. From their certified organic vineyards and vines aged 65+ years comes ‘Microcosmico’, a 100% Macabeo fermented in concrete with indigenous yeasts. Fresh and lively with elegant acidity and complexity, this white has notes of crisp apple, hay and jasmine with a backbone of minerality from the clay and limestone soils. Pairs wonderfully with grilled prawns and fresh oysters.
