2022 - Rose - Veneto, Italy (Pinot Grigio)
This co-op winery was founded in 1948 after 12 founding partners and wine growers were determined to start over post-WWII. It currently hosts 1,000 familes over 3,000 hectares of land throughout the Veneto region. Ramato is a historical style of producing Pinot Grigio in the Friuli-Venezia-Giulia region of Italy. The name originates from the Italian word 'Rame' that translates to 'Copper' and is a nod to how Pinot Grigios were made until the 1960s. Traditionally, Pinot Grigio wines were made with more skin contact creating a more 'copper' colored wine. This light-bodied rose has tasting notes of citrus and watermelon complemented by hints of rose petal. A great wine for the summer, you can pair it with your charcuterie board or summer salad.
