Marcel and Huguette Gitton started Gitton Pere et Fils in 1945 with less than a hectare of land. However, Marcel had been working in vineyards since he was 14 and he was determined to start his own. Marcel’s son Pascal joined his father in 1973 and today carries on the family tradition with his daughter Chanel. Today, the domaine has expanded to over 30 hectares on 3 AOCs and their wines have been sold to over 30 countries in the last 40 years. These particular vines are grown in soils abundant in iron ore, flint and limestone, giving the wine unique tasting notes of juicy peach and pear complemented by earthy undertones. Pair this wine with shellfish or a goat cheese salad.
