Stellenbosch, South Africa
Stellenbosch is arguably the winemaking hub of South Africa - some would go so far as to call it this region's Napa Valley - and Glenelly, with its roots in French viticulture and vineyards on the slopes of Simonsberg Mountain, has truly tapped into the potential of the terroir here. Fermented in stainless steel and aged in 500L Burgundian-made French oak barrels, this wine comes alive in the glass with a fresh bouquet of baked golden apples and yellow pears, white pepper and jasmine. On the palate, this wine is textured with flavors of ripe pears, lime zest, almond and a touch of vanilla while maintains fresh acidity. It would pair beautifully with creamy garlic shrimp pasta, roast chicken with lemon and herbs or creamy polenta.
