Alfred Gratien established his cellars in 1864 before meeting Jean-Alber Meyer, a wine maker’s son and native to Alsace. After Gratien’s untimely death in 1885, his widow named Meyer as general manager and then partner in 1896, renaming the cellar Gratien & Meyer. This bubbly white is aged for three years, much longer than the traditional one year that is required for Cremant. With fine bubbles and tasting notes of white peaches and nectarine, this wine is great to enjoy as an aperitif or with a shellfish dish.
