 Johanneshof Reinisch — one of the leading red wine producers in Austria — is situated in the Thermen region of Eastern Austria. This area experienced a viticultural heyday of Burgundian influence in the Middle Ages under the guidance of Cistercian monks. The three Reinisch brothers are fourth generation winemakers and have been certified organic producers since 2010. This Pinot Noir is made from 100% estate-grown fruit unfurls with delicate layers of red cherry and berries. Crushed violets, a touch of spice on the finish, and mineral undertones from the clay and limestone soils linger pleasantly on the palate. Medium-bodied and lean, this pairs well with gouda cheese, Margherita pizza, and roasted vegetables.
