Kir-Yianni was founded in 1997 by Yiannis Boutaris with the vision to create a super-premium Greek wine estate. After more than 30 years of running the operations of Boutari, the leading Greek wine brand that his grandfather established in 1879, Yiannis decided to use two of the best vineyards to start Kir-Yanni. Today, this winery stands as one of Greece’s largest vineyards and produces multiple varietals. This gorgeous bubbly rose is made from 100% Xinomavro grown 600 meters above sea level in sandy soils. It is intensely fruit forward and includes tasting notes of wild strawberries, white-fleshed cherries and tomato. With a vibrant acidity and a touch of sweetness, this wine is very food friendly and versatile. It can be enjoyed on its own or paired with fried fish.
