Situated on the hills overlooking Spoltore in Abruzzo, La Valentina's grapes are farmed sustainably & organically, and harvested by hand. Selected from three vinyard sites where the vines range in age from 25 to 36 years, this Montepulciano is fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged for 18 months prior to release. Slavonian oak and 2nd use barriques are used to age 20% of the wine, while the remainder is aged in stainless steel. Cocoa on the nose with a lively floral character. Flavors of plum, rose, & black cherry with a savory herbaceous quality, soft tannins and bright acidity. Made to pair with salami, grilled chicken or pasta aglio e olio.
